Job Description

The Hammonds Plains Family Practice is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage March 10th, 2027 to September 12th, 2027 

Responsibilities

  • delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Remuneration

  • guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
  • additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
  • accommodations up to $300 per night 
  • travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
  • travel time up to 10 hours per week
  • licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)

Hammonds Plains Family Practice is a professionally managed clinic. The location of this practice is a comfortable commute from central Halifax and against traffic. This practice is comprised of 4 family physicians, a family practice nurse and is well managed and fully supported by friendly administrative staff. The clinic uses the ACCURO electronic medical record (EMR). This is an excellent opportunity for a physician looking to locum in a well-supported and collaborative primary care setting in the growing Hammonds Plains community.
