Cheticamp Medical Clinic offers a supportive and collaborative environment for physicians providing comprehensive family medicine in the coastal community of Chéticamp. The clinic is equipped with Med Access EMR, enabling efficient and streamlined patient care. Physicians are supported by experienced clerical staff, a dedicated family practice nurse, and access to social work services, fostering a team-based approach to care. The practice serves a diverse patient population with a wide range of healthcare needs, providing an opportunity for meaningful, full-scope family medicine in a close-knit community setting.

Opportunities for inpatient and emergency department coverage are available but are not mandatory.

Job Description

Cheticamp Medical Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage June 1st to December 31, 2026.

Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
