Avon Medical Clinic is a collaborative, team‑based primary care practice located in Windsor, Nova Scotia. The clinic is home to a diverse, multidisciplinary group of providers, including family physicians, family practice nurses, nurse practitioners, and shared services through Continuing Care. The community is supported by a broad range of local specialists and diagnostic services, providing comprehensive access to care close to home. The clinic utilizes Telus MedAccess as its electronic medical record.
Job Description
Physicians at Avon Medical Clinic enjoy the flexibility to set their own schedules while working within a supportive, integrated care environment. The clinic offers full practice management support, access to shared services, and opportunities to participate in hospital-based and community-based care. Compensation is through the Longitudinal Family Medicine (LFM) model.
Clinical Practice & Collaboration
Deliver comprehensive family medicine to all age groups, with a patient population primarily composed of seniors.
- Work alongside 2 family physicians, 2 family practice nurses (RN & LPN), and 3 nurse practitioners.
- Participate in collaborative care supported by family practice nurses for teaching, injections, well-baby visits, and prenatal care.
- Engage with shared Continuing Care resources, including a dedicated Continuing Care Coordinator.
If desired, physicians have the option to conduct procedures in-office or at the local hospital with nursing support in ambulatory care.

Work with a full support team, including:- Medical office assistants
- Site team lead
- Health services lead
- Health services manager
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
