Village Family Physicians offers a dynamic and flexible practice environment tailored to your interests and availability. The clinic features fully equipped exam rooms, existing clerical support staff, and a dedicated family practice nurse to enhance your efficiency and patient care. Additionally, a pharmacist is available to support medication management.
Job Description
The Village Family Physicians are seeking a Family Physician to provide locum coverage during the following dates in 2026:
- March 5 to 13, 2026
- April 1 to 17, 2026.
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for full licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
