Job Description

The community of Amherst is seeking a family physician to join their team of experienced nurses and social workers at the Recovery Support Centre and Opiate Recovery Program in a 0.4 FTE position.

Responsibilities

  • provide support to clients receiving care as part of the Opiate Recovery Program

Expected Hours

  • 1/2-day clinics up to 3 times per week. 
  • it is suggested that physicians aim to see 25 patients per 1/2-day clinic, although this is flexible and varies. 
  • Some flexibility in clinic days/times is available– weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, intermittent clinics.
  • Some patients receiving care may require weekly follow up.

Remuneration

  • This position is funded through an Alternative Payment Plan or APP, with deliverables agreement.
  • Physicians holding a Certificate of Added Competence in Addiction Medicine from the College of Family Physicians of Canada will qualify for higher renumeration as outlined in the Physician Agreement (2024-2027)
