The Glace Bay Primary Care Clinic, located within Senator’s Health Centre in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, is a newly renovated facility with ocean views and a convenient five-minute commute to Glace Bay General Hospital. This centrally situated clinic provides comprehensive care with the support of two family practice nurses and a care team assistant, ensuring patients receive high-quality, collaborative healthcare services. The current schedule is Monday to Wednesday and Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, with extended hours on Thursday from 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM, though adjustments can be made if needed.
Job Description
The Glace Bay Primary Care Clinic is seeking a family physician to provide locum coverage for 8.5 hours per week paid through sessional funding.
Compensation is provided by the service, and locum physicians are eligible to access the travel elements of the program, including reimbursement for kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
