The South Shore Regional Hospital (SSRH), in Bridgewater, is seeking full-time and locum physicians for our Hospitalist program. Our program currently consists of four Hospitalist lines covering 15-18 patients of mixed acuity. This position is 7 days on, and 7 days off, with 8:00 am to 5:00 pm shifts, and call required 2 to 3 nights per week of work. Our site is close knit, provides ample support and a rewarding work experience.
The setting for our program is the SSRH, which is a friendly and collegial workplace where everyone actually does know your name. The hospital houses a 24 hour level III Emergency Department and district trauma centre, 5 bed ICU, 3 operating suites, skilled nursing staff and Helipad for emergency airlift to Halifax. Inpatient Units includes Surgical, Medical, Obstetrics & Nursery, ICU, and Mental Health. Interested candidates must be fully licensed or be eligible for full or restricted licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
Job Description
South Shore Regional Hospital is seeking a Hospitalist to provide Locum coverage during a period of active recruitment.
Locum physicians receive compensation through the service, with remuneration starting at $1,515 per day (8 hours) for a full line and the option to cover 1.5 lines at $2,272 per day. They are also eligible for travel reimbursements, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), with travel time covered up to 10 hours per week. CPSNS licensing fees are included. On-call compensation includes an additional $400 per night on weekends or $300 per night on weekdays, plus fee-for-service billings for patients seen between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support(BCLS)
