Montebello Medical is an established community‑based family practice located in Dartmouth. The clinic provides comprehensive primary care services to a diverse patient population and operates in a well‑supported, team‑based environment with experienced administrative staff and established clinic infrastructure. The practice is conveniently located and serves a growing community with an ongoing need for longitudinal primary care.

Montebello Medical currently has three family physicians on site and are seeking one full‑time family physician to join the practice. The incoming physician is expected to absorb an existing panel of patients from the clinic, supporting continuity of care and improved access within the community. 

The clinic is on Telus Med Access EMR. There is free parking on site. 
 

Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;

• Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
• Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
• Act as a patient’s advocate
• Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
• Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Qualifications

• All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
