Company Description

This small, bright and clean family practice currently has four physicians, and is seeking a fifth. Physicians have access to each others patient records and provide cross coverage during time off. Regular, casual conversations happen among physicians to provide support and collegiality. Opportunity to do small procedures such as IUD insertions, bursa injections, lumps and bumps. 
Patient population is cradle to grave. Clinic is located on the 'main' portion of Lower Sackville, within a pharmacy owned building. Overhead is a low flat rate and among the most competitive in the city ($5000 per month). 
EMR in use is MedAccess, and clinic also uses the Pomelo portal for patients to do their own bookings if able. 
This clinic has an excellent office manager who is very accessable and also provides billing support. 

 

Job Description

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures; advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners’
Act as a patient’s advocate
Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours
Full or part time 

Qualifications

All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
