Company Description

Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH), in Sydney Nova Scotia, is seeking full-time and part-time Hospitalist Physicians to join their team.  There is opportunity for applicants to engage in research and/or have medical teaching positions with Dalhousie University, should that be of interest.  The current remuneration arrangement is daily rate as per the provincial hospitalist agreement with a stipend plus fee-for-service billings for on-call work.  
At Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) there are 7 hospitalist lines. Patients are spread across several units in the hospital and are composed of medical patients outside the ICU.  If you are interested in a broader scope of practice that includes, but is not limited to hospitalist work, there are many possible opportunities in Sydney and surrounding communities.  
Cape Breton Regional Hospital is a 250 bed tertiary care institution that provides a broad range of medical care to patients in the Eastern Zone of the Nova Scotia Health Authority. CBRH is the largest of the community hospitals that operate as part of a four hospital complex that includes New Waterford Consolidated, Northside General and Glace Bay Hospital.

Expected Hours

Daytime coverage is 8am to 5pm and on-call coverage is 5pm to 8am, split between physicians covering the service for the week.
