Job Description

Cape Breton Regional Hospital (CBRH) is seeking a permanent full-time Medical Microbiologist. Consideration for physicians with dual-training in Infectious Diseases-Medical Microbiology. Physicians with an FRCPC or equivalent in Medical Microbiology will also be considered.

CBRH is the second largest hospital in Nova Scotia and provides most sub-specialized services including cancer care, intensive care, and management of immunocompromised patients. Significant redevelopment is ongoing and expected to be complete by 2028.  This role will support the current Infectious Diseases inpatient consult service, Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC), Antimicrobial Stewardship (AS), and provide Medical Microbiology leadership for the Eastern Zone of Nova Scotia. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivery of inpatient and outpatient Infectious Diseases consultations
  • Collaboration with both the Eastern Zone Infectious Diseases service and the Central Zone Division of Infectious Diseases in service delivery
  • Medical oversight of Microbiology services for Eastern Zone.

Expected Hours

  • Full-time

Remuneration

Remuneration is a blend of Academic Funding and salary estimated $400-450,00 per year
