Windsor Collaborative Practice is a collegial, team-based clinic dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care. Our practice includes four family physicians, a full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Family Practice Nurse (FPN), and a social worker, all working together in a supportive and collaborative environment.
The clinic operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with flexible scheduling within those hours. We use MedAccess EMR, and our three full-time administrative staff handle all billing, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow. Additionally, we are a teaching site for Dalhousie University and will soon be a residency training site affiliated with the Annapolis Valley program.
Located just down the road from our clinic, Hants Community Hospital offers a 24/7 emergency department, lab services, X-ray, ultrasound, outpatient spirometry, ECG, Holter monitoring, and internal medicine consults, including stress testing. The hospital also provides access to Community Mental Health and Palliative Care teams, ensuring comprehensive support for both patients and providers.
Job Description
Windsor Collaborative Practice is seeking a Family Physician to provide coverage during a physician leave from July 21 to January 11, 2026.
Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
