The Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery and the Multi-Organ Transplant Program at Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health are seeking to hire a full-time academic Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary and Multi-Organ Transplant Surgeon.
Job Description
This position will have its clinical base at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The QEII Health Sciences Centre is the tertiary referral and quaternary care centre for approximately two million people in the Atlantic Provinces of Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.
The successful candidate will be part of a team consisting of four HPB/Transplant Surgeons providing service to the Atlantic Canadian provinces and two Transplant Urologists participating in renal transplants at our University-based academic clinical practice.
Remuneration is based on a competitive alternate funding plan.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must be fully trained in Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary surgery, as well as liver and kidney transplantation, including retrievals, and be able to provide additional clinical expertise in a defined area (e.g. minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic surgery) as demonstrated by completed relevant fellowship training in such a field.
The candidate will be actively involved with medical student, resident and clinical fellow training. The successful applicant will demonstrate academic excellence. Research is an important aspect of our program and applicants are expected to be actively involved in basic science, clinical outcomes and/or education research activities. The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Nova Scotia.
