Company Description

The Division of General and Gastrointestinal Surgery at Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Health is seeking to hire a full time academic Colorectal Surgeon. This position will have its clinical base at the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The QEII Health Sciences Centre is the tertiary referral centre for more than one million people in Nova Scotia and manages high volumes of colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease and benign colorectal diseases.

Job Description

The successful candidate will join three other Colorectal Surgeons in our University-based academic clinical practice, will be actively involved with medical student and resident training, and will take Acute Care Surgery call.  

Qualifications

The successful candidate must be a fellowship-trained Colorectal Surgeon.

Training or experience in robotic colorectal surgery will be considered an asset. The candidate must demonstrate the potential for academic excellence consistent with the needs and strategic direction of the Department of Surgery.  Examples of such areas would include surgical education, translational research, health services research, quality assessment/improvement, and clinical trials.

The candidate must be eligible for licensure in Nova Scotia.  Remuneration is based on a competitive alternate funding plan
