Company Description

Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre is seeking a General Surgeon to be part of a team of four. The group is adding to their busy department of full spectrum general surgery which includes endoscopy. Regular OR, endoscopy, and minor procedures opportunities will be scheduled equitably among the team. Surgeons currently provide each other with surgical assists.

Cumberland Regional offers MIS suites and bright, refurbished ORs with excellent nursing support.  

Compensation will be alternate payment plan (APP). The APP rate is $421,425/annually plus ability to earn more if billings exceed contract value.

Responsibilities

  • work a full scope of practice as a general surgeon
  • participate in call shifts
  • provide support which includes day-time coverage and occasional overnight/weekend coverage
  • be responsible to the Zone Department Head for Surgery for their professional responsibilities and quality of practice
  • operate within the Medical Staff Bylaws of Nova Scotia Health Authority

Expected Hours

  • Permanent Full Time
  • 1:4 to 1:5 on-call requirement
