Born and raised in the Annapolis Valley, Heather has called Halifax home for almost 20 years! Her favorite thing about living in Nova Scotia is getting in the car and just driving, seeing where you end up. She notes that there's always a waterfall, path, or landscape to be discovered.
Heather has obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Film) from NSCAD, a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Acadia University, and a Masters of Family Studies and Gerontology from Mount Saint Vincent University.
When she was younger, she wanted to be an actress, particularly in musical theatre. She also aspired to be an astronaut due to her obsession with Star Wars and the dream of hanging out with Harrison Ford.
While she is new to physician recruiting, Heather said she is enjoying and appreciating learning how much incredible effort goes into recruiting healthcare professionals by collaborative teams from across the province.
"There are so many people doing amazing work, and I love learning about the little details and the problem-solving," said Heather. In her spare time, Heather is a self-described band nerd and plays the trumpet in several community groups. She professes that she's an artist across all fronts – if it can be created, she's likely tried to make it (although it might not be any good!).
