Hammonds Plains Family Practice is seeking a full-time Family Physician to join its professionally managed clinic. The location of this practice is a comfortable commute from central Halifax and against traffic. This practice is comprised of 4 family physicians in full time and part time roles, is professionally managed and fully supported by friendly administrative staff. The clinic uses the ACCURO electronic medical record (EMR) system and offers very competitive overhead fees. This full-time role comes with an existing patient panel.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours

Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
