Company Description

This new turn-key will see the co-location of a number of existing health services under one roof in the heart of Dartmouth North.  This full-time family physician opportunity would be in addition to an existing group of Primary Care providers, Nurse Practitioners and Family Practice nurses. There will be connection to other primary care practices with the Dartmouth North community through shared EMR and Urgent Care Centre participation.  Opportunities to collaborate are expansive given the co-location of various NSH services including blood collection, Diabetes Centre, Community Health Teams and more!   Primary Care in Dartmouth North is seeing significant growth over the immediate future, this is exciting for any family physician interested in collaborative care. 

Clinic is expected to be open in late 2025. Temporary space could be arranged if a physician wanted to start earlier. 

Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;

  • Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
  • Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
  • Act as a patient’s advocate
  • Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
  • Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
