Berwick Family Practice is a collaborative clinic home to eight family physicians who offer comprehensive primary care to the community. The team is supported by a family practice nurse, experienced clerical staff, a dietitian, kinesiologist, and social worker, ensuring a well-rounded approach to patient wellness. Physicians also participate in Ambulatory Care time, providing additional outpatient services. The practice emphasizes teamwork and continuity of care in a supportive and multidisciplinary environment.

Job Description

Berwick Family Practice is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage for the following dates:

• July 14, 16, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28, 30, and 31, 2025
• August 6, 7, 11, 13, 14, 18, 20, 21, 25, 27 and 28, 2025

Locum physicians provide coverage for family practices, including inpatient and nursing home care, as well as specialist hospital and office coverage as requested. Compensation includes a minimum daily income guarantee of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 for half-day), with additional earnings if shadow billings exceed this amount. Travel expenses, including kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), are reimbursed, along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.

Qualifications

• All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
• All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
• Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
