Company Description
The GP Obstetrics and Newborn Care group in Amherst, is seeking locum coverage during July and August 2025. The group is comprised of 5 physicians. Locum physicians with current NRP certification are welcome to provide weekend coverage for Family Practice Obstetrics and Newborn care, with shifts running from Friday at 8:00 a.m. to Monday at 8:00 a.m. There is flexibility to add days on either end of the weekend for those interested in extending their stay. Additionally, there is an opportunity to combine office-based family medicine work with weekend OB call coverage for those seeking a broader clinical experience while in Amherst.
Job Description
Compensation is provided by the service, and locum physicians are eligible to access the travel elements of the program, including reimbursement for kilometrage, per diems, accommodations (up to $300 per night), and airfare (up to $1,500), along with travel time up to 10 hours per week. Licensing fees for CPSNS are covered, and locum physicians may claim Facility On Call fees under specific conditions.
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program(NPR) required
