This brand-new Nova Scotia Health turnkey clinic will be open in February 2025 in the heart of Dartmouth North! This clinic will see the co-location of a number of existing health services under one roof.
This full-time family physician opportunity would be in addition to an existing group of Primary Care providers, Nurse Practitioners and Family Practice nurses. There will be connection to other primary care practices with the Dartmouth North community through shared EMR and Urgent Care Centre participation.
Opportunities to collaborate are expansive given the co-location of various NSH services including blood collection, Diabetes Centre, Community Health Teams and more!
Primary Care in Dartmouth North is seeing significant growth over the immediate future, this is exciting for any family physician interested in collaborative care.
There are currently three vacant physician spots at this clinic. EMR will be MedAccess, and overhead is a flat monthly rate of $3500 a month. Dedicated billing support, office admin and clinic manager add to a robust opportunity. Clinic hours will be Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 p.m. Occasional urgent-care shifts required as part of the network of Dartmouth after hours services (approx 4 times a year per physician).
This position will be on the LFM model, and physicians will be expected to build a panel of patients from the Need A Family Practice Registry. Everything you need to practice will be provided for you - from office supplies to billing support to a brand new office space.

Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements

Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
