About the Opportunity
Dartmouth General Hospital is seeking a full-time General Internal Medicine physician. An acute-care regional hospital within the Halifax Regional Municipality, DGH has recently expanded to 180 beds and includes a newly renovated 8 bed medical/surgical/cardiac Intensive Care Unit with plans for a 6 bed Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU) and anticipated further growth in the coming years.
Internal Medicine acute care call and service are provided by a group of internists of mixed subspecialties.

Qualifications
Applicants are expected to have FRCPC (or equivalent) designation in GIM. Other subspecialties will be given consideration, and negotiations with candidates would include plans for resources and provision of services in the base specialty.
Remuneration is through in the provincial fee-for-service system along with newly negotiated daily GIM guaranteed daily minimum income for many services including inpatient Internal Medicine coverage and most outpatient clinics.
Candidates will be expected to accept an academic appointment to the Department of Medicine at Dalhousie University. Academic rank will be dependent on qualifications and experience and requires a willingness and ability to teach medical students and residents.
