Company Description

Tantallon Family Practice is a collaborative practice of 7 full-time family physicians, 2 full-time family practice nurses, a urologist, and a walk-in clinic which is an extension of our family practice and operates 5 days per week. We have a large waiting room area and fully equipped nursing station for triage and patient care. Office and exam rooms are fully furnished, stocked and ready to use. Our clinic is fully staffed and professionally managed.

We are seeking a family medicine physician to provide locum coverage September 3, 2024 - May 12, 2025
The clinic uses EMR – Accuro
No on call required.
Remuneration is the daily locum rate of $1200 per day.

Job Description

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures
Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
Act as a patient’s advocate
Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours

Full or part time 

Qualifications


Eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
Eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
