Company Description
Scotia Square Medical Clinic is seeking a full-time family physician to join their team of two family physicians and a part-time cardiologist in their fully furnished, professionally managed clinic that uses Accuro electronic medical record (EMR). This is a full scope, cradle to grave family practice located in the heart of the professional district of Halifax.
Depending on professional interests, physicians may shape their practice around their interests. The management team will provide full practice autonomy. There is flexibility around full or part-time based on the physicians preferences.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;
- Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention
- Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners
- Act as a patient’s advocate
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements
Expected Hours
- Permanent, full-time
- No evening or weekend call
- Walk-in shifts available, if desired
Qualifications
- All applicants must be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia (CPSNS)
- All family physicians must be eligible for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC)
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA)
