Job Description

The Parrsboro Primary Health Care Clinic is seeking a Family Physician to provide Locum coverage September 10th to 20th, 2026. 

Responsibilities

  • delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness
  • work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access
  • utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members

Remuneration

  • guaranteed daily minimum income of $1,200 for family physicians ($600 or half-day)
  • additional shadow billings if above amount is exceeded.
  • accommodations up to $300 per night 
  • travel expenses (including air fare up to $1,500)
  • travel time up to 10 hours per week
  • licensing fees for College of Physicians and Surgeons (CPSNS)

The Parrsboro Primary Health Care Clinic is a community-based family medicine clinic located in Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, serving residents of Parrsboro and the surrounding South Cumberland area. The clinic provides comprehensive primary care services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, routine medical assessments, and treatment of acute, non-emergency illnesses. Working collaboratively with Nova Scotia Health and other local healthcare providers, the clinic is committed to delivering patient-centred, accessible care while supporting the long-term health and wellness of the community. The clinic is conveniently located adjacent to the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, allowing for close integration with additional health services available in the region
